Why Protect Your Hair With Satin?
Cotton is an absorbent fiber. The sheets on your bed and pillowcase can remove oil added to your hair. This causes the hair to look, feel dry and break. The fiber of satin fabric is less absorbent, smooth and lustrous. The smoothness and luster of the weave prevents the hair from tangling while sleeping while retaining the added oil to your hair.

Our designs range from protecting the extremely short tapered styles to lengthy, heavy hair. Classic Lucy and LiL Lucy are both used to maintain full body hairstyles. Classic Lucy protects longer length locs, or longer finer hair. LiL Lucy will protect all other styles with loose curl body. Snug Cap is ideal for maintaining sleek, smooth hairstyles.
Satin or Silk? Maverick Wear offers sleep protection in 3 types of fibers. When you hear the word satin, it is referenced by the weave of the fiber, the weave that gives the shinny appearance and soft feel. Classic Lucy, LiL Lucy and Snug Cap are available in Polyester or Silk. The advantage to silk is the light weight of the fabric. The delicacy of the fiber is the disadvantage.
Sleeping Pretty and our Tender Care Satin Pillow Cover are made from Rayon satin. Rayon has an amazing shine a luster and responds well to steam iron. Shrinking is a disadvantage. All our rayon fabric is pre washed to minimize shrinkage.
Explanation of Satin: Satin is NOT a fiber, it is a WEAVE that makes the fabric dull on one side and shiny on the other. Satin is made from silk fibers, polyester fibers, acetate fibers, rayon fibers and blends from each. You can be assured if we disclose the fiber as silk, we have tested by burn method. We take our reputation, product and customer service seriously and would never deceive our customers. Our silk fabric has been pre-treated so you may machine wash with your other delicate fabrics.

Classic Lucy style is ideal for covering loose hair, very long in length hairstyles, voluminous braids, locs and with the use of hair rollers. Combination elastic in front with tie in back adds to your fitting comfort.
Lil Lucy style is ideal for covering loose hair, medium length to shorter fuller hairstyles. Combination elastic in front with tie in back adds to your fitting comfort.
Sleeping Pretty style is ideal for short nape hugging cuts with tapered sides. This style is over 5" wide and has an elastic front and Velcro fastener in back and designed to cover the edges of your hair, leaving the crown open. Available in small, regular and extra.
Snug Cap is a small, close fitting cap with elastic front and ribbon tie back that is designed for brush wraps and ideal for maintaining smooth, sleek hairstyles for women and children. Perfect for controlling textured styles.
